The Guiseley Factory Workers Club is over a hundred years old having been established in the early 20th century. It was founded by the Yeadon and Guiseley Factory Workers Union, a union that served the dozens of mills and dyehouses of the area.

The textile industry, along with engineering, were the staple industries of Aireborough, (Guiseley, Yeadon and Rawdon.) Hence the club badge incorporates an engineering cog and smoking mill.

The club, an unadorned three storey stone building, is to be found at 6 Town Street, close to the old centre of the town. Not a hundred yards from the club is St Oswald’s, the 12th century parish church of Guiseley.

Facing the club itself are the Cross, originally medieval but restored in 1912, and the stocks, first recorded in Saxon times. Prior to the industrial revolution most of Guiseley’s houses were concentrated on Town Street, which was then part of an old track which led from the priory at Esholt, through Guiseley to Carlton and Otley.

On entering the club from Town Street you come first to the small comfortable lounge where the main bar is to be found, with room for about 50. On a lower level, behind the lounge, is the snooker room with two tables. The concert room, (Exley Room,) which can hold approximately 100 people, is to the left of the lounge. To the rear of the club is the walled beer garden, with heated pavillion and ample tables and benches.

The club is very traditional in some aspects and on Saturdays still have Saturday night turns and bingo. Sunday night is quiz night and on Thursday it is bingo. The club has a strong games section with league darts and dominoes on Monday and snooker and billiards leagues on Monday and Tuesday. Being a club very much at the heart of the community it hosts a variety of local clubs and organisations; Labour Party, Aireborough Allotment Society, Dales Model Flying Club, R.A.O.B. and Leeds Organ and Keyboard Society.
